What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine sterile needles into specific points on the body located on pathways that traverse the body. Stimulating these acupuncture points restores the flow of Qi throughout the body which among other things may relieve pain and discomfort.

Acupuncture helps by strengthening and enhancing normal body functions and promoting a general sense of wellbeing.

Benefits of Acupuncture:

  • Provides drug-free treatment
  • Very few side effects
  • Treats underlying cause of disease as well as symptoms
  • Provides holistic approach to treatment of disease and illness, linking body, mind and emotions
  • Assists in disease prevention as well as maintenance of general well being

You also have the choice of cupping; the cupping method is often used in combination with Acupuncture. Suction cups are applied to soft tissue areas such as back, shoulders, and thighs. It aims to relieve muscular tension, assist in promoting blood circulation and eliminate pathogens that enter the body and cause illness.
